Spelling is taught in line with the National Curriculum. A new spelling rule will be taught each week; the teaching sequence consists of teaching the rule, practising the rule and then applying the rule. 

Weekly challenges related to the week's focus rule will be set on Spelling Shed (the learning platform that we use to support spelling progression). 

Each classroom contains a display which promotes the current week's spellings, as well as the previous week's spellings to ensure these are reinforced.
