School tours
For families that are interested in joining Rushden Primary Academy, please contact us straight away for a tour. Our Principal, Lindsay Edwards can facilitate morning tours, which is the perfect time to see the academy buzzing with learning! We believe in small group tours, to allow families the opportunity to visit all aspects and areas of the academy.
Starting School Applications
Applications for starting school for pupils aged 4 and above always need to be made through the Local Authority and not through the Academy. They can only be made in the year before your child is due to start (September after their 4th birthday).
EYFS Tours
Similar to school tours, Lindsay Edwards is looking forward to welcoming new parents, who are considering Rushden Primary Academy as their EYFS setting for September 2025. Please call the school office, 01933 201200, to arrange a tour for the week commencing 23rd September 2024.
Appeals
There will be a right of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel for unsuccessful applicants relating to admissions at age 5 (statutory school age) or above. Appeals should be made within twenty (20) school days of the date of refusal to Northamptonshire Local Authority.
Please be aware that the regulations under Section I of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 limit the size of an infant class (a class in which the majority of children will reach the age of 5, 6 or 7 during the school year) to 30 pupils per class teacher. Admissions over this limit are only permitted in very limited circumstances.
Protocol for In Year Admissions
We strongly urge parents to consider carefully any decision to move their child other than for reasons of relocation, especially during the academic year. In the first instance it is very important that parents address any issues or concerns with the school their child attends and work with the school in order to try to resolve them. Parents who wish to apply for a place at Rushden Primary Academy to transfer from another school (except if moving from out of the area) should first read the guidance on the https://www.northnorthants.gov.uk/move-school-during-school-year-year. If you wish to proceed with an application, please contact the school to arrange a visit.
