Implementation

We follow the 'Projects on a Page' from the Design & Technology Associationhttps://www.designtechnology.org.uk/

The breadth of study for Key Stage 1 is cooking and nutrition, textiles, mechanisms, construction.

Breadth of study for KS2 is cooking and nutrition, textiles, electrical and mechanical components, stiff and flexible sheet materials, mouldable materials.

 

All units of work include the following stages: 

Exploring Products - investigative and Evaluative Activities

Focused tasks

Design, make and evaluate assignments: This includes using a range of equipment and materials correctly and safely, evaluating their end product against design criteria, asking and answering their own questions and observing and measuring.

 

We use a five part lesson, following the 'Flight of the Kite'.
