Impact

Outcomes for pupils in Art & Design:  
Children will be/have: 

  • An interest in art and an enthusiastic engagement in learning, developing a sense of curiosity of the world around them. 

  • Challenged.  

  • The knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. 

  • Knowledge about how art and design both reflect and shape our history, and contribute to the culture, creativity and wealth of our nation.   

  • An excellent knowledge and understanding of a range of skills and vocabulary appropriate to their year group.  

  • An understanding of the impact of art on the world around them.  

  • A basis for reflection and evaluating their thoughts and opinions linked to their own work and others. 

  • The artists studied should be from a range of backgrounds including BAME, other ethnic minorities and genders. 

Each year group produces art work using various techniques and media.  These are: drawing, painting, printing, collage and 3D and textiles.   Here are some examples of the work from 2022/23 from the various year groups:
